I work for a small financial company maybe 10 or 15 hours a week, plus a day or two a week at a local record company, and mon-thurs I have class that I walk to. So I say I work pretty hard, but student loans help me and the fam. Allows for me to stay home more and not have to work evenings or something at a restaurant, which would blow.

I am in sales so I am driving from appointments to appointments a lot. If not I am going door to door to small businesses. My wife is 7 months pregnant and I hope I will have enough time for my new family and not have it effect my production at work. I am glad my wife found this website for me.

It is for this reason that this program was created. It is designed specifically for fathers just like you and me.

i think quality time is not looked at in the same way as kids see it . i dont think there is a right or wrong way to do it as long as you do it. kids dont care what you do with them like the time i took my daughter hunting when she 4 the first time she wanted to go just to spend time with me but she liked it and the next year she got her first buck it was a 6 point and she helped me skin it and clean it . or my oldest son likes to work on my mustang with me even though he dont do anything cause he is two but he has fun and i think thats what matters most sorry for the long thought

not all parents can choose how much time they spend with there kids. i work in a coal mine and i drive a train there i am on call 24 7 365 and i do work 7 days a week and im there for 16 to 18 hours a day i do get a day off sometimes but its rare . i get to spend a lot of time with my kids even when i have to work but i give up sleep to do so but some people cant do that . i dont get to see them as much as i like but they know i have to work

Hi everyone! When I first joined this forum, I was
look for forum that had activity - then it seemed like
nobody did any talking - glad to hear form you!
I was reading an article that had this comment:

Children need more than so-called quality time, that
is, a set half an hour or so with the children
periodically. They need quantity. A columnist in a
Swedish daily writes: “During my 15 years as a
reporter, I have met a great number of juvenile
delinquents . . . A common denominator is that they
seem to have been exposed to quality-time upbringing:
‘My parents had no time.’ ‘They never listened.’ ‘He
was always traveling.’ . . . As a parent, you can
always choose how much time you will give your child.
Your choice is judged 15 years later by a ruthless
15-year-old.”

I would like to get your opinion on the concept of
"quality time".

It seems to be a constant juggle/struggle to provide
for the family and be there for them emotionally and
spend the time needed.

I'm still working...but I have to travel about one hour away. It puts a financial burden on us. Gas is expensive. Also the wear and tear on my vehicle. But it dose pay the bills...somewhat. Hang in there guys!
