DJ at a country radio station, and host of the afternoon drive show (Golden Oldies... nice break from the country, actually). Also a writer, trying desperately to flood the market with my stuff in hopes of getting something published (and trying to finish three different projects right now).

Hey, quick question: I'm actually doing a bit of copy editing / translation from home - however, I'd like to get something published as well, but I don't know anything about writing. If you don't mind offering a bit of advice, what type of writing do you do? Where do you find projects to work on?

I work in field service as an area manager. I have been at it for 14 years now. I service and install ID machines, access control systems and debt and credit card making machines (embossers). I work out of my house so I get a lot of time with my wife and kids. I love what I do and I'm glad I can say that.

CIA is hiring entry-level security officers..go HERE.. pay is MUCH better than state CO work, and if you're under 40, you can retire in 20.

I use to work in agriculture driving tractors planting just about everything. Then took a risk and tried the online world. Never looked back. About a year ago I got started in cashgifting that so far was the best money I made since I've been online. Took a little bit to learn marketing but I caught on quick. So now being home everyday is truly a blessing.

P.S. Glad I found this group!

I work at Fresenius Medical Care in the Dialyzer Department; we produce Dialyzers for kidney failure. It's a good job for me, it helps me pay for college, and it has good hours (three twelve hour shifts and a 6 hour shift), leaving me with three and a half days to spend with the family and go to school online. I plan on graduating college with an Associate's Degree in Information Technology, specializing in Networking. I enjoy music, I used to want to make music my life; I jammed out every day on the guitar, used to record music onto my computer. I later gave up on the dream of becoming a professional musician, as it wasn't leading anywhere positive for me in my life I decided I wanted my life to be family based. I now wouldn't change my life for the world. I have met my dream wife, I couldn't ask for a better baby, and we even have a cat together. Life is too short to not spend it with your family, and i'm looking forward to every waking day! It's nice to be here with the guys on daddaily.com; my wife is always on cafemom.

I don't know about where you guys live, but the go-to job up here is Corrections Officer. State pay and benefits are the plus side... the down side (at least up here) is that for the first few years, you really don't get to decide which facility you work at. A CO friend of mine (before he put in enough time to request the facility he wanted) would spend several days at a time several hours from home (and living in a hotel room), then five days back. Or something like that. So it's a tough life, but not a bad gig for people who need the work.

work-at-home jobs are tough to start -- and there are a whole lot of people taking advantage of the economy and offering "at home" jobs for some "minimal investment" that may or may not yield results. At best, those may actually pan out to earn you some extra bucks... at worst, you get your credit information stolen. Hell of a gamble.

The wife is considering an ebay consignment business. If you're willing to take the time, there's a lot you can do through ebay or similar services, as a self-starter. But it takes a while to get going. If that's the goal, I'd suggest even a crappy retail job (sorry if anyone works retail -- I did until very recently, and let's face it, they suck) just to get you through till things pan out.

I usually worker in construction or landscaping which isn't a bad thing since the weather here in TX is conducive for year round work. Bbut there a some things in my past that keeps me from getting in with some of these companies. Life sucks all around right now but you have to keep your head up aand keep beleiving that thing will get better.
